Henk van Zuydam
Henk van Zuydam was born in the Natal Midlands and has travelled the country on his professional journey.
While completing his BCom Accounting Honours degree at Tukkies, Henk served on the board of Radio Tuks (RSA’s biggest community radio station at that time) as Financial Director and also served on the Student Development Committee of the University.
At the end of his articles at Deloitte’s, Henk married his wife Helene, and together they completed a short stint in Topeka, Kansas – smack in the middle of the USA. A rented Toyota Corolla took them around the whole USA on a 7-week road trip (covering roughly 16 000km), ticking off all the bucket list items.
In 2012, Zuydam Konsult was born. From its humble beginnings, the firm grew into what it is today, employing close to 50 staff members with offices in Durbanville/Belville, Fish Hoek and The Hague in the Netherlands.
Apart from work, Henk loves to spend time with his wife and their three sons. His personal reward system is built on travel, with his motto being that one day, sitting on a rocking chair in his golden years, he wants to have experienced and seen it all with Helene.
Francois Joubert
Francois is a born and bred Capetonian. From early on in his life it was clear that carpe diem was the motto that drove him forward. After spending two years abroad immediately after school, Francois returned to South Africa to pursue his BCom Accounting degree.
He joined Zuydam Konsult 6 months after its inception and has never looked back. Being part of growing the firm, from humble beginnings to where we are now, has been one of the most rewarding professional journeys for Francois.
In his time at Durbanville College, while studying towards his BCom degree, he met his wife Denise. Today, they are the proud parents of three beautiful daughters.
Francois is an avid long-distance runner, with a number of marathons under his belt, and embraces the opportunity to take on new adventures, from skydiving, travelling and camping to playing guitar and singing.
